The scope of transactions and operations that are subject to reporting requirements will significantly increase in the near future, and failing to comply with these new requirements come with severe consequences. The panel will discuss the current legislative proposals relating to the reportable transaction rules and the introduction of requirements to report “notifiable transactions” and “uncertain tax treatments”. The speakers will also address risk mitigation strategies and privilege, conflicts of interest and timing issues, as well as the implications of the proposed rules from a practice management standpoint.
