Speaker: Luis Perez – Director, Global Tax Ai Automation at Dell Technologies

Luis Perez leads Dell Technologies’ Global Tax AI Automation team, which he has built from the ground up since 2012. The team applies intelligent process automation, advanced analytics, and emerging agentic AI to modernize compliance, transfer pricing, provision, and controversy operations across Dell’s global tax footprint. His own path started on Dell’s manufacturing floor, assembling laptops and PCs.

Twenty-seven years later, he works at the intersection of tax and technology — indirect tax, multinational compliance, ERP and tax engine integration, and e-invoicing mandates. Every step was built on skills learned on the job, as the work itself kept changing. That shaped how he hires. Luis has grown a global team by finding people who will reskill as fast as the tools do, wherever they come from, rather than recruiting to a profile — and he speaks on what it takes to stand up an automation function inside a tax organization, from sequencing the first wins to building a bench that keeps pace with the technology.
